Mom Social Networks

by techtalk on December 26, 2008

There are many online social networks for moms to join. These online networks are a great way to learn new things, connect with other moms and indirectly promote your mom business. Many of these sites have specific groups for Mompreneurs. Usually social networks require that if you are wanting to let people know about your product, you post in the appropriate areas. If you don’t, that is a good way to get kicked off the network and create a bad rep for your business. The networks are monitored and some are watched carefully for SPAM. So it is important to contribute to the social network. Create posts on topics that interest you and reply to other member’s posts. Find groups or forums on a certain topic you may know a lot about. Add content, social network moderators love when users interact and add content.
When signing up for a social network, be sure to spend some time making your profile unique. Here is where you can post a link to your website if there is room and add interesting information about you and your business.
Some social networks allow spiders* which can help your webpage optimization and some networks have notag follow meaning the spiders will not be able to follow your link and will not help search engine optimization. However social networks have humans on them and humans can click your links, read your content, build relationships and become loyal customers.
There are a few mom social network links posted to the right.
*See blog post below for definition of Spiders
