Social Media Networking may seem very overwhelming with all of the obligations that come along with operating your own business. Where is the best place to start? Start with a blog. Blogs help to optimize websites because they are full of content which “spiders” crawl through to index your website. Blogs should be hosted on your own domain in a sub-directory of your website’s main directory. If your website is hosted with Go Daddy you can add a free wordpress blog . It is a pretty simple process just follow the directions. In another post, I have mentioned some good WordPress themes that can be customized to match to your website.
A few things to keep in mind when writing your blog posts include:
- Shoot to make blog post at least 2-3 times per week- this adds content
- The purpose of a blog is to entertain, educate and engage(if you remember this your blog will be more successful!)
- Write about topics that will interest readers within your niche
- Make blog posts short- not too long
Once you feel comfortable with blogging, add another social media tool. Twitter is very easy and has been said to be a bloggers best friend.
