Often times on blogs you will see a place where you can grab a button(graphic) to place onto your blog to spread the word about that blog. This is a form of linking blogs. I have read a few articles about building links to your site or blog. Some articles say that link exchanges are good, however one article I read on searchenginewatch.com says that link exchanges are not good for building SEO and that it is best just to gain links to your site not exchange links. But in the mommyblog world, sometimes I think it is best to help each other out. I feel exchanging links with a site or blog with whom you have a relationship of some sort is fine. Just be careful about how often you are exchanging links. Try to exchange links with quality sites that have a good PageRank.
Therefore, setting up a button for readers to grab on your site will help to create links on other sites for your site. On BornFit Life, a blog I manage, I have created a button on the sidebar. I did this by following the simple directions on blogcoach.org I created the graphic/button on a great site called Photobucket. When you have created the graphic on photobucket, it will create an album for you. When you are in the album, there is a button called link options, click on Direct Link for layout. This is the code that needs to be copied and pasted into the code supplied by blogcoach above. If you have trouble creating a button, leave a comment and I can try to help.
