A friend of mine sent me an article with some more ways to protect yourself while you’re on-line.
- Assume that everything you post on a social network site is visible to everyone. Adjust your profiles so that it can only be viewed by friends you approved.
- Don’t click on links or attachments in emails unless you know what they are and who sent them. If you get unsolicited emails requesting your personal email, social security number report it to www.fraud.org
- Use only trusted, secure websites when you enter personal information. Don’t cut and paste links from emails, type the web address in directly. Look for “http” in the URL and a locked padlock icon in the lower right hand corner of your site.
- Use a SPAM filter, virus scanner and a firewall on your computer and update them.
- Change your passwords regularly
The above info was found in an article from Credit Union National Association Inc.
