Apple Tree iPhone app, a fun Spelling game for Kids

by techtalk on August 2, 2009

appletreeWant an iPhone app with really good educational value for your school age child? Try Apple Tree from Mobility Ware. This iPhone app encourages children to work on their spelling skills while playing a game that is similar to hangman. Children can use the iPhone key board to touch different letters to spell a word. When a correct letter is touched on the keyboard the letter is automatically placed into a letter slot to give the child a clue about the word. When an incorrect letter is touched, an apple falls from the Apple Tree. My daughter really enjoys this game. We play together as a fun way to learn spelling skills without “forcing” her to practice.  This app is very simple to use, on the app’s main page, there is a small “i” icon where the player can select from grade level word lists or choose a one or two player option.

Also, check out Happy Baby – Alphabet learning tool
– English alphabets are displayed sequentially (like flash cards).
– Alphabets are pronounced (Optional switch).
– Pause button to stop at an alphabet
– Reset button to start over
– Timer can be adjusted to delay display of alphabets
