Often times I have met women who have had a web designer create a website for their business without having some basic Search Engine Optimization done to the site. The women wonder why their site is not showing up on at least the first few pages of Google. Well, there is an answer, the website was not optimized. Search Engine Optimization is really important for a website. When a website is created it needs to have certain things done to it to ensure that the website will show up on at least the first couple pages of Google. Ultimately, the goal is for your website to show up on the first page of Google. If you have some  basic technical skills, there are things that you can do yourself to optimize your site. Some websites that are very helpful resources for “do it yourself” information include SEO.com’s blog and Search Engine Watch. If you do not have any technical skills or you do not have the time, it is wise to hire someone to do SEO for you. It might seem like a  amount  of money upfront, but if the SEO is done correctly, you should make your money back and then continue to see results.

I just came across this super information blog post on SEO.com’s blog. The post includes some very basic SEO tips to help with organic Search Engine results. “All I Want for Christmas is some Organic Search Traffic.

Really consider learning about SEO, if you don’t have the technical skills, you really should just read and at least educate yourself.
