The YMCA Strong Kids Campaign is up and running. I have been ask to campaign for this great cause!
The Strong Kids Campaign supports the many wonderful programs that take place at the YMCA on a daily basis. Some of the programs include,
- Affordable childcare and sports activities for children
- Scholarship money for working parents who can’t quite afford expensive before and after school care
- Provides a child for one week of summer day camp
- Sponsors children in water safety and basic swimming skills
- Plus several other programs throughout the YMCA
I recently went to the Denver Area Strong Kids Campaign kick-off and listened to a recipient of YMCA sponsored membership explain about how he was feeling down and out because of a job loss. The YMCA was there to support him by supplying him with a Y membership so he could keep his spirits up and maintain his health while looking for a new job. I found that to be very inspiring and made me feel great about being apart of such a caring organization.
