What is Google Analytics

by admin on January 14, 2010

Google Analytics is a tool which allows you to see where and how traffic comes to your website. For instance, when Google Analytics is added to a website, within your Google Analytics account, you  can view and learn a huge amount of information about your website, such as referring traffic and  keywords searched to land on your site.  To add Google Analytics to your website, you will need to sign up for a Google account. Then Google will generate a code which you will need to add to the code of  your website, generally in the footer area.  There are also advanced settings which will track conversions, Google ads and lots more.

I use Google Analytics for this site. I use it to gain insightful information to help me make decisions about things I need to do to grow and enhance my blog. Below is a video which slowly takes you through the basics of setting up Google Analytics. You Tube also has several more video tutorials for setting up Google Analytics.
