There seems to be no simple way to delete a Facebook group so here is how to do it…..

First send a message to everyone in your group about closing the group. Then remove everyone from the group so you’re the only member, then click on leave group. When the last member leaves it gets deleted.

That’s it!

If you would like to use Social Media for your business, it is important to keep in mind that when you use social media, you need to use it to build a community for your customers. Social Media is not meant for SPAM. A company which really uses Social Media wisely is Gaiam. Gaiam is a Colorado based company which reaches their customers through their online community, Gaiam Life, their blog, Stream of Consciousness, and through their Facebook and Twitter profiles. Gaiam engages, educates and entertains their customers, which makes for great Social Media. I really advice you watch Gaiam. Fan their facebook, follow them on Twitter and read their blog. In my eyes they are the leaders on how Social Media should be used.

Well, here it is, a Social Media Marketer helps to build an online community around a business or a product. As a part of my responsibility for BornFit, I manage most of the on-line social media relations we have created. Lisa and Julie, the owners of BornFit have lots to focus on with managing their business .
Recently on the BornFit blog( blogging is a wonderful way to build a community), there was a contest for a Date Night Give Away. We had a pretty big response for the contest. As part of my responsibility, I helped to spread the news about the contest through Twitter, Facebook and emails. Running a contest and only keeping the information on the blog hoping that someone would read it would not have given BornFit a big enough response. We had to let people know about the blog post. The Give Away is just one example of how BornFit has supported its customers and has built an on-line community behind its product.
Another example of building a BornFit community has been through the BornFit Facebook group. Creating a group is easy to do. On your home page click on groups under applications. It will take you to a group page, click on create a group. Through the group we have posted fitness related info and have linked blog posts from the BornFit blog. We also encourage the group members to interact and share with BornFit. We can also send messages directly to the group members’ emails attached to their Facebook profiles.
BornFit has also recently joined Twitter. I have found Twitter to be very useful. We follow businesses, blogs, and websites within our niche. Usually when we ask to follow someone, they return the favor and follow us. It is also a great way for us to keep up the the mom bloggers who have been supportive of BornFit.
These ideas I have shared are FREE! The one cost is time….. it takes a lot of time to do what I do.
